Swim Lessons

Another summer and another two weeks of swimm lessons at the country club.  When we go I reminisce about taking swim lessons as a child.  When we moved to Lewistown the summer before 6th grade, I was signed up for swim lessons at the local city pool.I don't think that we have any photos from those lessons but you'd probably see a pouty face and my arms wraped around my body before even getting wet.  It was outside and swim lessons started in the morning.  The days would heat up and the pool would feel good when it was 85 to 90 degrees, but those chilly early mornings would be so hard to get into the pool.  Here the pool is heated and the change rooms are nice, at least they are for the girls.  Some of the teachers I recognize from the year before.  I like the attention paid to the kids and how they work on the correctness of the stroke.  There is emphasis on the crawl and diving.  I think that next year, I should sign them up for two sessions back to back and maybe a diving session.  Heck, I want to take the diving session.  I would love to learn how to actually use the diving board.  I don't really use the bounce correctly.  John knows and we have fun watching him but I just plain stink.  Swimming is a big deal to us too.  We have a boat and a pool, because of that the kids need to be comfortable in the water and be adequate at swimming.  We also go to Canada a lot during the winter to swim at the aquatic centers there.  Hopefully this year, I'll pick up a underwater camera and take some photos at the water parks.
