The truck made it's way down the hill and around the curves past the entrance to Arches National Park. There was a line but the truck didn't turn instead it continued on into the town of Moab and through it to the eastern side away from the park. Arches would wait. Pulling into the KOA, it made it's way to its designated home for the next three days. The trailer was unhitched and leveled. The trailer's slideout was extended, electricity and water were hooked up. The truck rested but not for long. Soon, water bottles and cameras were once again loaded into the truck and this time it made it's way to the entrance of Arches National Park. Pulling up to the ranger pay station it was quickly apparent that past 5 pm there wouldn't be a charge to enter the park. The visitor center was closed as expected but there were a few maps and information available outside of the center. The truck once more came to life as it started the climb around the corner up the hill and into the park itself. It meandered it's way along the main road as the sun created long shadows turning the rock a darker orange yet. A pullout near the Park Avenue and another at the Courthouse Towers had the truck idling while photos were taken. Farther on the truck turned into the lane leading around Balance Rock and then onto the loop near the North and South Windows and Double Arches. The stop was just an taste of adventures in the next few days. Back to the main road, the truck purred onto the next stop. The trailhead to Delicate Arch. It circled the parking lot judging the availability of adequate parking space for the next day. The end of the main road had the truck trekking the last 6 miles to Devil's Garden Trailhead. Each parking lot had space but not an over abundance of spots and timing was going to be crucial each day. The last stop on the way out of the park was a quick pull out across the road from Skyline Arch. Finally the truck trudged it's way back to its home away from home for the night to rest up for the days ahead.
