It was just a few years ago or maybe just last year, I can't remember that we "discovered" this trail.  When the kids were little we would walk or bike the trail that followed the shore of the lake. So I am not sure why this trail was never hiked by our family.  Since in the low foothills of our area it is a great winter/spring hike.  When Job came for a visit, he kept talking about a long mountain hike with views.  Maine doesn't quite have the mountains we have on this side of the country.  Unfortunately, he came about a week too early for a long mountain hike so he settle for this.  The trail itself can be longer than we went.  We just did the short 5 mile round trip to the viewpoint and back but it was one that Job hasn't been one.
