We have a special place that we go when we want to watch the fireworks over Bellingham Bay.  Instead of going down by the water we go above on the hills and watch from there.  We bring blankets, chairs, my camera and tripod and lots of snacks.  My one thing that is an absolutely must is my remote control shutter button.  I plug it into my camera, set the settings and hold the remote.  I snap various photos and then go through them when I get home.  There are some of the same people there from year to year and we chat, ooh and aah, and then goes home.
