Tulip Fields

These tulips were huge!
I really like trees with pretty pink flowers and this picture has the tree in the background.

These yellow tulips make me feel sunny and warm.

Some things I love to have as a tradition; such as the picture log at Birch Bay and ice cream afterwards, kids spending two weeks at Grandma's house during the summer, sledding at Mount Baker, swimming in Canada, books on tape while driving to Montana, funny sayings such as "Cows are dogs with airplane noses", and tulip fields. I was a little worried that we wouldn't make the tulip fields this year. April was slipping away. The web site said that there weren't blooms yet, piano lessons, physical therapy and soccer were taking up our days. Maybe this was the year to let it go. But no, we were able to fit it in. Isaac had an appointment in Woodinville and we decided to cancel school and take an all day field trip. First off we headed to Starbucks for hot cocoa and then on to the tulip fields. I didn't think that we would be there for 2 1/2 hours but we were. I took all kinds of photos and so did the kids.
Thanks Isaac for this picture of Job, Lona and I.
Job was very busy with John's camera. Job's goal was to try to make it look like things were growing out of people's head, such as branches and poles. Normally we try to avoid that but not for Job. I haven't gone through their photos yet.
Lona loving on Isaac and now that he's a "pre-teen" he barely tolerates it.
Of course we had to practice some fun stuff such as Job trying to stomp on Isaac's head and then Isaac in the palm of Job's hand.

This was about as serious as they got all day!
Job you take great photos!

For some reason this boy is "stuck with red". He has been wearing a lot of read lately. It's part of of his stupendous outfit. Don't you just love 8 year old imaginations.
This mischievous face is all Job.
John and I sometimes shake our heads and thank God that these two boys are such good friends.
Why do you have to grow up so fast?
They look like siblings.
She always has hair in her eyes. LOL. I'm glad she likes to smile and pose for the camera.
We missed having John come to the fields with us. So live vicariously.
