Job and Henry

Job,

You are a unique child. You can be serious in one moment and playful the next. Isaac and Lona tend to be similar in their personalities and therefore get along the least. You, however, get along with both Isaac and Lona. You play so well with both of them at their levels that it seemed as though you didn't need or want other friends. A couple of years ago at chess club you would come home talking about this boy. You kept it up asking if he could come over. Finally I met his mother and we talked and decided that it would be OK. We were introduced to Henry. The two of you seemed to get along great. You'd play together, you'd play with each other. You both just clicked. This year you've watched Isaac go to his friend's house spur of the moment to play or sleep over and you started asking when your friends could come over. You kept it up all summer and finally there was a time when Henry's schedule and our schedule matched. Henry was wonderful to have over. He took his plate to the sink. Waited for you, played with you, said thank you and please. He fell asleep immediately but was up early. When he got up, he had his sleeping bag packed and set by the door with all his stuff. He was quietly reading a book until you woke up. This is a boy we can have over more than once. He has become your good friend and we like him a lot. It may have taken a while to find and develop this friendship but it was worth it.
